Who we are

This website is run by Ruan Theron, trading as Noresoft, in Cape Town, South Africa. In this policy "we" and "us" mean Ruan Theron trading as Noresoft. Ruan Theron is the responsible party and the information officer under the Protection of Personal Information Act (POPIA). You can reach us at studio@noresoft.co.za.

In short

This website doesn't use cookies, analytics, advertising or tracking scripts. We only get personal information from you if you email us, and we use it to reply to you and, if we work together, to do the work. We don't sell it, and we won't add you to any marketing unless you clearly agree to it.

What we collect

If you email us, we get your name, your email address and whatever you write in your message. We use that to answer your enquiry and, if you become a client, to deliver the project.

When you visit the site, our hosting provider (Vercel) automatically processes technical details such as your IP address, your browser type and the pages you request. It needs these to deliver the site and protect it from abuse. We don't use them to identify you or build a profile of you.

Who else handles it

Vercel Inc. hosts this website. Google provides our email through Google Workspace. Both may store information on servers outside South Africa, and both are bound by data protection terms that give protection comparable to POPIA.

How long we keep it

We keep enquiry emails for as long as we need them to reply and follow up. If you become a client, we keep your records for as long as the law requires, for example tax records. After that we delete them.

Your rights

Under POPIA you can ask us what personal information we hold about you, ask us to correct or delete it, object to us using it, and withdraw consent you gave before. Email studio@noresoft.co.za and we'll respond within a reasonable time.

If you're not happy with our response, you can complain to the Information Regulator of South Africa at https://inforegulator.org.za.

Security

The site uses HTTPS and strict security settings, and access to enquiries is limited to Noresoft. No system is perfectly secure, but we take reasonable steps to protect your information. If a breach ever affects your information, we'll tell you and the Information Regulator, as POPIA requires.

Changes

If we change this policy, we'll update the date at the top.
